If the Showpark faciity remains a horse park for shows, but needs to generate additional income, I see these possibilities:
Equestrian trade shows
Other animal or discipline shows and activities
Large animal Veterinary Clinic or Equine rehab
IF the Showpark facility remains and could include boarders, how would that part generate additional income in order to be self sufficient separate from shows. I see these possibilities:
Clinics and events generated by in house businesses
Local equestrian playdays w/in house suport
Special non-horse show related activities
GIrl Scouts, boy scouts, local children's programs involving horses
What would you see as additional income generating options and suggestions for the horsepark
Rent it to whoever is interested
Dog rescue location
In order for Showpark to survive, do you believe a Strategic Plan for local participation in equestrian events is vital to its survival?
Are you interested in being involved with a local TASK FORCE for that purpose?
MAYBE BUT I KNOW SOMEONE WHO WOULD
What can you bring to a TASK FORCE such as this? Comment
Do you see it feasible for an outside management company to lease the horse park and be able to pay to clear up the current financial and environment issues?
Would need to know financial details to decide
Do you believe an outside leasee, or management would financially be able to maintain the property AND do 'deferred maintenance' currently necessary on the property, replace problem buildings, upgrade decades old facilities?
IF A LEASE BECAME POSSIBLE, how long should the lease be? (Please don't just pick the biggest number here, think wisely about this question so we end up with a 'reality' number for a lease possibility.)
5 Years w/renewable option
10 Years w/renewable option
20 years w/renewable option
30 years +
Any of the above options and ANY renewing of the lease reviewed with public involvement
What is important about your choice? Comment
DREAM YOUR DREAMS ON THIS QUESTION. What is the ideal way to solve the current problem and how do you see the outcome?
Money from the California residents and businesses - CA governmant.
Private Foundation in control - that is being set up currently
Let it sit till we can figure this all out.
Are you willing to be an active part and support future programming at Showpark -
IT IS THE STATES RESPONSIBILIY
Let someone else do it
What role can you take on to support?
Your understanding of the amount of $ paid by horse show management to 22nd DAA for horse shows at Showpark: is:
Is 'profit' to 22nd DAA
Is BEFORE 22nd DAA expenses
Is AFTER 22nd DAA expenses
Is 'net' to 22nd DAA
If you chose "net" what does that include? Does it cover any portion of the ongoing expenses 22nd DAA has to maintain the property year round so there can be horse shows? OR does that 'net' mean only from that actual specific horse show?
Do you want to be added to the contact list for this project?
